Chapter 4 Ringing Chimes They Snooze you Loose

I like the 2 pieces of advise given in this chapter about how to make students learn the material in the presentation.
  1. Get their attention
It becomes imperative to give a presentation that will capture the full attention of the student. Although it seems impossible to do, it plays an important role in the effectiveness of the material retention of the student. The book explains in detail about the limited time a teacher has to cover the objectives during the school year and that if something will make your class be more effective the content will be learned quicker and more accurate.

  1. Make the presentation stick

After the presenter has capture the attention of the audience it is his job to maintain the attention long enough to make it stick. Hooks are used in order to keep the attention. Connections to the material, Humor used during the presentation, and Images used for visual representations are some of the hooks used.
